Ishan Bal tatha Mahila Aspatal (P) Ltd. is one among the oldest and most esteemed hospitals in providing pediatric and maternal healthcare services in Nepal. Since its establishment in 1995 A.D. (2052 B.S.), it has stood as a trusted brand for compassionate, comprehensive family wellness.
The guiding principle of this hospital from the very beginning is to provide affordable, top-quality care with the best available medical equipment without becoming a commercial venture. It has gradually been built to provide the best operative unit possible, fully equipped with an advanced ICU and specialized diagnostic services.
Today, the hospital provides specialized care from its own children and eco-friendly WHO-standard hospital building at a dedicated 6.5 ropani land plot in Tokha-5, Basundhara, Kathmandu.

History
Foundation
Ishan Hospital was established as a 15-bedded Ishan Children's Nursing Home Pvt. Ltd. at Narayan Gopal Chowk by founder members Dr. Narayan Bahadur Thapa, Mrs. Bijaya Rana, Mr. Bhishma Man Shrestha and Mr. Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa.
Expansion to Maternity Services
With extension to 25 beds and the addition of maternity services, it was renamed Ishan Children's Nursing and Maternity Home Pvt. Ltd.
Relocation to Basundhara
Having established 24-hour Pathology, Radiology and Ambulance services, the hospital was shifted to the existing building at Basundhara, Kathmandu.
WHO-Standard Facility at Tokha-5
Today, the hospital operates from its own children and environment-friendly hospital building of WHO standard at a 6.5 ropani plot in Tokha-5, Kathmandu, with over 47 highly qualified senior consultants from different specialties.
